It's easy to be a part of the online store at www.volumeonemag.com, and we want your stuff on display here as much as you do - because the more artists we have involved, the better the website will be for everyone.
The Basic Ideas and Philosophies
- Each seller's product is shown along with many other local/regional products for a one-stop-shop kind of feel. This sells more of each seller's products than would be sold at an individual artist website because traffic is much higher.
- As people browse through what the shop has to offer, buyers may stumble across your product and decide to buy it without the actual intention of buying it when they first went to the site.
- Each seller's product will be available to anyone at any time, whether or not there is a public appearance or live show, and whether a book store, art gallery, or record store is open or not.
- With all of these local artists assembled in one place, it helps show the community that this region's creative scene is full of quality artists - that can help get more people interested in what we're all trying to do.
- This web shop not only helps support you, the artist, but supports Volume One, a magazine working to serve the artistic community of the Chippewa Valley.
How It Works
- CONTACT US. You contact Volume One to make arrangements to provide products and information.
- PROVIDE INFO. The seller provides an artist photo, bio, audio tracks, etc., and determines the selling price (before shipping costs) of each item.
- PROVIDE PRODUCT. The seller provides a few pieces of each of their products (CDs/t-shirts/books/art/etc.) for Volume One to warehouse. The seller maintains ownership of their inventory, Volume One just holds on to it and sells it - a typical consignment arrangement.
- WE SET IT UP. Volume One will place the items on our website with an image of each product and some product information, plus a photo of the artist, a short bio, some audio or text samples, a few quotes of past praise received, etc.
- SELLER PAYS SET-UP FEE. The seller pays a set up fee to cover the cost of photographing and/or scanning products, placing them in inventory and setting up documentation, uploading audio tracks, preparing and arranging product information on the site, and miscellaneous tasks associated with including your stuff in our online shop.
$10 initial set-up fee for the artist photo/bio/first product photo & info/audio tracks/etc
$2 for every additional product set-up
- WE PAY TRANSACTION FEES. Volume One will process all orders and pay the fees associated with selling merchandise on the website including: the merchant account, transaction fees, processing credit card orders, security encryption, and so on.
- WE TAKE ORDERS. Volume One will take orders, collect shipping charges on each order, and do the packaging & mailing of products in a timely fashion.
- WE PROMOTE. Volume One will make every effort to continually promote the website, and all the products it has to offer, as best as we can.
- WE GET PAID. For all of these services, Volume One will collect 40% of the selling price for each item sold and basically put it back into promoting the website.
- YOU GET PAID. Every three months the seller receives a check from VolumeOne.org for the amount they were owed for sales during that period.
